Unable to Create Route Server in Subscription from Azure Cloud Solution Provider (CSP)

Hi,

My company Azure subscriptions are provided by an Azure CSP (Cloud Solution Provider). When I try to create a Route Server in any one of the CSP subscriptions, I get error "This offer is not available for subscriptions from Microsoft Azure Cloud Solution Providers", while I have no trouble creating a Route Server in a non-CSP subscription.

Does the above error message mean my Azure CSP did not provision the subscriptions correctly, or does it mean the Router Server product is simply NOT available via Azure CSP?

While I understand some Marketplace product may not be available via Azure CSP, why would an Azure native product such as Route Server (which is not from the Marketplace) be not supported by Azure CSP???

To be able to create and use Route Server, how do I proceed?

Thanks,
Chi

@Yasuhiro Ochi Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A. I understand that you are having issues with creating a Route Server in your CSP subscription .

At the moment Azure Route Server creation via the Portal is not supported. However, we are working on the same and it will be supported soon.

At this time, you can create the same using Powershell or CLI. Here is how to do the same:

    Hi SaiKishor,

Thanks for the tip -- I was able to create the Route Server via Azure CLI. However, I ran into another problem:

As soon as the new Route Server was successfully created, my Azure VMs no longer can see all the routes advertised by the VPN gateway (routes with next hop "Virtual network gateway"). And if I go to the VPN gateway > BGP peers, I got "Error retrieving data" instead of showing all the BGP peering connections. (In my non-CSP subscription, after the Route Server creation, I was able to see all the multiple BGP peering connections, and no loss of routes from VPN gateway.)

Why is my CSP subscription having problem establishing BGP connections between the new Route Server and the VPN gateway?

    Thanks,
    Chi

    Sai Kishor,

Per your email instructions, I sent an email with the Route Server/VPN Gateway problem details to the AzCommunity email address (Subject: ATTN: Sai Kishor), at 7:17pm EDT (4:17pm PDT) on Saturday 4/9.

Did you receive the email message?

Kindly respond, and advise next step in resolving this issue.

    Thanks,
    Chi

    Hi Sai,

Not sure if my latest (4/12) email also went to your Junk mail box. But I had a problem trying to create a support request:

After I navigated through the Azure Health Advisory to Create a Support Request, I got the following messages:
"Your cloud service provider manages your subscription.
To submit a technical support request for this subscription, please contact your service provider:
    "

Our contract with CSP to deploy Azure subscriptions was completed and ended -- We are on our own to maintain & operate the Azure subscriptions.
Is it possible to allow us/me to open/create support request directly with Microsoft? (Not to mention our CSP has no knowledge the nature/details of the technical issue, since they are not operating our Azure environment.)

    Thanks,
    Chi
