I have an Azure AD Tenant that has been configured with an incorrect "Country or Region" setting. I understand that the "Country or Region" setting cannot be changed so I'm going to need to remove the existing Tenant and create a new Azure AD Tenant. When creating the new Tenant I need to use the same name as the existing Tenant that currently has the incorrect Region.
Am I able to Un-register, or get Microsoft to Un-register, the existing Tenant name to allow me to re-use it when creating a new Tenant with the correct "Country or Region" setting?
E.g. the existing Tenant is MyTenant.onmicrosoft.com and I need to reuse this name when creating the new tenant.

The article details how to delete a tenant in Azure Active Directory which is great. However, after the Tenant has been deleted can I re-use the previous Tenant Name when creating a new one?
That's the general idea.

I believe the original poster was asking whether the deleted tenant's name will be "reserved" for some period of time after the deletion. For anyone else's information looking at this thread, having just deleted an Azure tenant (which I realised should have been a B2B tenant and not a B2C tenant), I am unable to create a new tenant with the same .onmicrosoft.com domain name.
I imagine that the domain name of the deleted tenant will be reserved for some time (either as things sync up around Azure, or as an administrative hold to prevent people losing their names if they decide they do want them after all).
I haven't been able to find any information on how long you must wait before you can create a new Azure tenant with the same onmicrosoft name as a deleted tenant.
Following up on my previous post, I can confirm that - after about 15 minutes - you can create a new Azure tenant with the same onmicrosoft name as one you have just deleted.
