Hi,

I'm using office online server (on premise) to implement file preview feature. But seems it's require the file to be public accessible refer to link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeonlineserver/plan-office-online-server#security-considerations-for-online-viewers.

Is it possible implement access control when preview file via the Office Online Server?

NOTE: Currently the file stored in azure blob storage and retrieve by a public webapi call, if I move the file to SharePoint will it validate the user permission with SharePoint integration?

Or I have to add firewall rule to machine that Office Online Server deployed to check if the incoming IP that is from intranet?

Thank you for your advice, have a nice day.

Thanks

    Hi, @Bourne
Welcome to the Q&A forum, after my hard research, I didn't find a setting for Office Online Server preview permission.
It is recommended that you try to set permissions on the file host, refer to this link for details: office-online-limitations-and-features-with-information-rights-management

Regarding the problem of user permission verification after moving to SharePoint, you can send another post with the SharePoint tag.
