Can I back up files only?

Hi,

does azure backup install any agents to perform backup procedures?

I know that it is possible to make a backup of the complete machine and for SQL the recommendation is to backup only the databases.

But I want to backup only the SQL LOGs inside the VM can I make only those files?

    @Salves If you’re referring to SQL Server in an Azure VM, then take a look at this documentation: Discover SQL Server databases. In it, it says (in Step 8):

    Azure Backup installs the AzureBackupWindowsWorkload extension on the VM. No agent is installed on the SQL database.

    If you ONLY need to backup the log files themselves (and nothing else), you might need the MARS agent for file/folder-level targeting.
