I want to use MS Teams to collaborate with outside parties, who we would like to invite to be members of our Teams. However we want to be able to place some restrictions on their access to the content. Is there a way to set up an environment where the content is read-only to the outside party but editable internally? I found that there are permission settings for owner and member but not as visitor. How to manager the outside parties with a visitor group?

What kind of content are we talking about here? Channel posts, documents, files? You can restrict Guests from editing/deleting posts via the set of Messaging settings under the Teams Admin Center > Users > Guest access:

We want to restrict files access, read-only for guest. We try to put the guest into the visitor group of SharePoint but it seems nothing change. Then we remove guest as member of the team but that is not good. What should be the proper setting?
There is no "Visitors" group for Teams sites, even Guest users get "Members" permissions by default. So you need to remove that first. If you are not OK with this option, consider applying sensitivity labels to the file/folder.
Are there steps provided for applying sensitivity labels to the file/folder in this case? What is the simplest way for user to set this up?
