SharePoint Hero Web Part - Excel document preview size

Hi,

We have a document we link to from a Hero web part in a SharePoint site, and a preview of the document is displayed.
It looks really dumb though, and I am wondering if there is a way I can either control the size from within SP, or if there is a way I can adjust the document to fit here better.

See below on what the preview looks like:

Changing focal point only adjusts the position, not the scale.
I have tried page and print area adjustments, zooming, and nothing seems to work.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Per my knowledge, we are not able to change the excel document preview size in hero web part. The preview size is built-in and it's responsive. And this behavior is by design. You could send feedback to Microsoft in SharePoint feedback forum.

Seems a little odd? What is the size it has been designed to use, as perhaps we can amend our document to work to that size.
Is there any documentation around this and how it determines what the preview looks like?

As I am sure you can imagine, if you have a document with a very small amount of data, the large preview size makes it looks stupid.

You could use Embed web part as a workaround.

The only thing is, we are trying to keep a consistent design to our various subsites across our SharePoint intranet.
99% of pages have the Hero Web Part as their main section, which we can't (as far as I can tell) use with embeds. The Hero Web part can only link to other things such as documents or other pages.

Unless there is a way to use an embed item within a Hero Web Part, I don't think this will fit in with our design preferences.
