Unable to use whiteboard in Teams

I wanted to test out the whiteboard function while in a meeting in Teams. I clicked share, then clicked whiteboard, it opened a whiteboard session and worked very well.

This was just a test and I had a bunch of scribble on the board, so I opened up my Whiteboard app and deleted that whiteboard.

It seems there was some sort of association with that particular whiteboard and the team because now the whiteboard function does not work.

When I repeat the steps I used initially I get an error that says:

"Error

An error occurred while processing your request

We could not find the content requested"

This seems to be an error that hasn't been reported or fixed as a quick google revealed someone experiencing a similar issue. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/37179058-delete-whiteboard-in-microsoft-whiteboard-app-remo

Has anyone experienced this and have a remedy?

SAME HERE. I find it to qualify as a bug that needs to be fixed.

While awaiting the bug fix, please provide a warning when deleting a whiteboard from the app, indicating that it will remove the functionality to use the whiteboard in Teams for the chat linked to it, without possibility to restore this.

Fix suggestion: either provide the possibility to recover the deleted whiteboard (and use the clean board instead)

or provide the possibility to attach a new whiteboard

(Registered also via 'Provide Feedback' in the Help section of Teams)

    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Hi Juan,

I have signed out and back in, did not work.

    Rebooting also did not help.

I am able to create a new team and use the whiteboard function in that team.

We definitely have permission to use the feature.

It seems like when clicking the whiteboard button in the Teams meeting, that it is looking to connect to the whiteboard which has been deleted and hence shows the error message that it can not find the content requested.

    Hello BearInTheCorner,

My name is Juan Pedro, I am an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products. I will be more than happy to assist you today!

Have you tried signing out and signing back?

Also, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling teams and rebooting your computer/device.

If the problem persists, I would recommend getting in touch with the person managing Teams in your organization (Teams Administrator), just to see if you have the proper permissions to use this feature.

I hope this helped. I will be around in case you need something else.

    Thank you.
