Mail app has limit functionality and in case you want to have more advance email and management ability, you may consider Microsoft Office Outlook.
However, you may open start and search for feedback and open the Feedback Hub app and file a suggestion and suggest this feature.
Why is this annoying little issue appearing like its a mystery to resolve?
Im tired of the default mail client auto saving drafts. However i cannot locate a setting for this anywhere. This is so redundant its maddening. Everyone knows you have to save documents or lose changes/progress and by doing it on its own windows is making a huge mess in my emails. I want to have the interface identical to notepad, where all it does is pop up a dialog box upon exit to tell you it needs saved. And that should be turn offable too.
When i search "disable auto save drafts in windows mail" it just finds stuff with outlook thats irrelevant. Someone must know how lol.

I'm not sure what you have already tried or what information you have seen already, but this is the method I would use in order to prevent drafts from being automatically saved by Outlook:
Launch Outlook.
Click on File (upper-right corner).
Choose Options in the left pane menu.
Select Mail in the newly opened window.
Deselect the box beside Automatically saves items that have not been sent after this many minutes.
Leave the minutes as 0.Click OK.
This is all that you need to disable the autosave feature in Outlook. Hopefully, this method stops your annoying level of saved drafts.
Note: Please do remember that when you disable the autosave feature in Outlook and start typing messages, if you discard the message, Outlook won’t notify you if the message is being discarded or saved.
I hope this answers your question.
