Unable to fetch query statistics using 'LIST API by MANAGED INSTANCE'' from Azure SQL Managed Instance

We are using Azure SQL Managed Instance when I tried to get instance's top resource consuming queries by using the rest api, I get an internal server error.

{
"error": {
"code": "InternalServerError",
"message": "An unexpected error occured while processing the request. Tracking ID: '3526e241-2175-4888-8f75-7606a2103e6c'"
}
}

But I can able to see the data available in SQL Server Management Studio under My Database -> Query store -> Top Resource Consuming Queries.

Is there any pre-requisites need to be done to get in rest API or how can I resolve it?

Hi @AppmanagerZohocorp-9645 Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A and for using Azure services.

My understanding is that you are facing an internal server error while fetching statistics using List API by managed Instance from an Azure SQL Managed Instance.

I tried to repo the issue from my end and successfully retrieve the managed Instance keys

Please check if you have used the correct parameters below

I tested this directly from the doc you shared above.

It seems you have executed the API in this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/sql/2021-02-01-preview/managed-instance-keys/list-by-instance as we can see the type value is /Microsoft.Sql/managedInstances/keys in the response body.

But we have raised concern in this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/sql/2021-02-01-preview/managed-instances/list-by-managed-instance

Can you please verify and update us ?

@AppmanagerZohocorp-9645 Thank you for clarifying this. I tried to repo using my personal resource (Managed Instance) and faced the same issue.
We are checking internally and will get back.

Oury

@AppmanagerZohocorp-9645

Our Product team investigated the issue and determined that REST API in question is marked as Preview and that corresponding configuration parameter that enables this API is not turned on world-wide (including region in question). Necessary modifications of this configuration parameter have been made and rollout of the change is expected to happen world-wide during next 30-45 days.

@AppmanagerZohocorp-9645

Currently India central and Canary (useuapeast2) are the only regions where this API is supported. For Worldwide this should happen during next 30-45 days.

Can you please notify us, when the required configuration done for the API and rolled out world-wide?
Sure, I will notify you
