The user name is not supported to store in the File system linked service with the error message “Failed to convert the value in 'userid' property to 'System.String' type. Please make sure the payload structure and value are correct.”.
The test connection can be successful for the user name to store in the key vault with property “userName” in the SQL server link.
The user name in some linked services supported to store in the key vault, but it is not supported in the file server link. If the user name is not supported to store in the key vault for the file system link, can it be added to the error message to avoid misunderstanding? As a feature request, can user name support to store in the key vault for the file system link?

It is much more clearer to understand if the error shown clearly specifies a non-supported feature than showing an error message that may not be relevant. This feature should be added for linked services to file system to enable consistency with linked services to other technology (where it works as expected) and also to provide more robustness and security.
