Hello,

problem in one sentence: outlook credential login window pop up often since I initial created a public folder (on exchange 2013)
It is asking for test-publicfolder@mathieu.company .de ...

My intention was to test a sync with pbx via publicfolder. (exchange 2013)
Publicfolder was not in use before.
I initial enabled publicfolder and granted access via Exchangepowershell.

Add-PublicFolderClientPermission -Identity \test-publicfolder -AccessRights PublishingEditor -User PAULA
Add-PublicFolderClientPermission -Identity \test-publicfolder\test-contacts -AccessRights PublishingEditor -User PAULA

further details:
a) on-premises exchange 2013 (latest CU)
b) outlook 2019/office 365 app 32bit (latest updates)
c) notebook is domain-member and using outlook anywhere
e) notebook is not in the local-netwerk (homeoffice) but has VPN for fileshare (not all the time)
e) public-certificate is in use
f) azure AD sync existing (only password sync is configured)

Best Regards

    @Matrix-Matrix-Matrix

Could you provide a screenshot of the pop-up to us? Is it a popup in Exchange on-premises mailbox format or in Office 365 format?

I guess this phenomenon may be related with the "f) azure AD sync existing (only password sync is configured)"

Try to create a new OU which is out of sync, then create a new mailbox in it, check whether there exists same issue with this new mailbox.

You can also follow this article to check whether this issue is caused by unexpected Autodiscover behavior.
