OLK2016/19 PST Import to On Prem Exch 2019

I am migrating two clients - one to On-Prem Exchange 2019, the other M365 Hosted Exchange.

What is the process OLK uses when it imports a PST? Does it:

  1. Import the content to the OLK OST regardless of the Exchange Server type then update the mailbox?
  2. Import the content direct to the mailbox, then update the OLK OST?
  3. Or is it environment dependant - e.g. Imports to OST for Exchange 365, firtect to Mailbox for On-Prem?

    Hi @Shane King

    The PST file would be first imported to the OST file, then sync with Exchange server.
    The Exchange server version doesn't matter.

    So it would be scenario 1.

    Is there an event added to the Windows or Application or Office event log that tells us when the sync between the OST and the mailbox has completed - successfully or unsuccessfully? Or is it logged anywhere that I can confirm completion?

    My concern is that if I the OST is say 50GB and the connection to M365 or on Prem is slow, we never know if it is ok to close OLK. I ask the question because the client has me using a Spare PC rather than having the users do it (his choice) and I'd like to be sure it has finished with a mailbox before I move onto the next user import

    In the EAC, go to Recipients > Mailboxes > click More options. , and select Import PST.
    The Import from a . pst wizard opens.
    On the next page, select the target mailbox, and then select one of these options: Import to this mailbox.
    On the last page, configure one of these settings:
