Hi,

Our SCCM Primary Site server was upgraded from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2019. The SQL Server 2012 Database for SCCM is also installed on the same server. As the server is upgraded to Server 2019, should we also upgrade the SQL version from SQL Server 2012 to a higher version?

SCCM CB version is 2107

    Hi, @Lorin Davis

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Usually, the SQL Server version is not related to the windows server version, just make sure the SQL Server is supported.
However, the documentation mentioned: Starting in version 2107, support for SQL Server 2012 is deprecated. Its support lifecycle ends in July 2022. Plan to upgrade all database servers before that time.

So it's recommended to upgrade your SQL Server version.
