Problem with domain host

Hi,

We have a problem with a site we're managing (www.combiwearparts.com).
The site hasn't been active for a very long time, and just recently Combi Wear Parts wanted me to update their site. For everything to work I had to do a new install of Wordpress.
We don't have any account details except the login for the Wordpress site.

For the site to go live we need to point the domain to the new IP-adress, but I have no idea who handles the domain. I've been in contact with "Ascio", who referred me to "Loopia" who referred me to Microsoft Azure.

That's pretty much all info I've got, since the site is hasn't been actively managed for ages. I guess the only thing I really need to do is to be able to manage the account since we need to point the domain to the new IP when the site is live. But like I said, I'm stuck since no one knows who hosts the domain.

Hello @Adrian-7867

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform,

According to the registrar info the domain is with Ascio, they should be able to help:

https://who.is/whois/combiwearparts.com

 Name Ascio Technologies, Inc
 Whois Server whois.ascio.com
 Referral URL http://www.ascio.com
 Status OK https://icann.org/epp#ok

Did they explain why you have to engage someone else?

Best regards

"As you are not our customer unfortunately we are not able to provide you with any information on the domain name
Please get in touch with Loopia AB in order to receive further information on the domain name"

Loopia then referred me to you.

Loopia sent me this:

Name Server: NS1-06.AZURE-DNS.COM
Name Server: NS2-06.AZURE-DNS.NET
Name Server: NS3-06.AZURE-DNS.ORG
Name Server: NS4-06.AZURE-DNS.INFO

As you can see, according to Loopia and whois, the name servers are held by Azure

Do you have a DNS Zone created on Azure related to that domain?

I couldn't say, I don't know

Name servers (whatever you want to use, Azure ones or others) are configured from the domain settings via its cpanel tool, like any other domain provider.
This domain is not managed by Microsoft hence we cannot help much.

OK. Thanks!

I spoke with Loopia again, and once again they told me what I wanted to do is handled via the name server provider - Azure (DNS settings are handled @ Azure)
The site is only registered via Loopia and the only thing they handle is the renewal of the domain.

Adrian-1493, As for as adding/updating DNS records on Azure DNS, kindly take a look at these tutorials below (if you haven't checked already) and see if you're able to find Azure DNS zone and update records.

Tutorial: Host your domain in Azure DNS
Quickstart: Create an Azure DNS zone and record using the Azure portal

I have also added additional tags to receive insights from the targetted SMEs/community experts from Azure DNS (as you have highlighted about Azure DNS).
Azure-WebApps tag is for questions related to Azure App Service WebApp.

I wouldn't be able to do this would I?
None of us working where I work have an active Azure subscription and since we don't really know if Azure handles the domain I don't want to get one either
