Dear Experts,

We have some PCs running Office 2019 which are activated by using on-premises KMS server. We now have some Office A3 license for users to activate Office 365.
The practice we took was to uninstall Office 2019 first then install Office 365.

Is there an easier way that we can upgrade Office 2019 to Office 365 directly?
When user accesses new Office 365 for the first time, they can go ahead to use their account to activate the product?

Thanks a lot!

    Hi, @Eaven HUANG
One way to try is that you can download the Office Deployment Tool and use the Remove element in configuration.xml to uninstall Office2019, which will uninstall Office2019 when installing Office365. You can refer to this article on how to deploy using ODT and configuration.xml: office-deployment-tool-configuration-options.
For users to log in to Office and use their accounts to activate, you need to log in to office-365-administrationto assign Office365 licenses to users.
