Monitor's native resolution is blurry . . 1080p monitor supports 3048x2160?

I know this is a question for NVIDIA and/or Acer, but I wanted to get some feedback/ideas from here as well.

I have an Acer monitor and an RTX 3060. Today, I installed the latest NVIDIA driver (528.02) and noticed a few things: alt-tabbing from one window to another (like from a game to the web) would take a lot longer than usual and result in a black screen, but the most obvious thing was that my display resolution was set to 3048x2160, which kind of confused me since my monitor is a 1080p monitor. I switched to 1920x1080 (in Windows settings) and the quality of the resolution is noticeably poorer, almost blurry. Yet 1920x1080 is listed as the "recommended" setting.

Anyone might know what's going on? I figured if my monitor is a 1080p monitor it shouldn't go higher than that and, before today, I always assumed the resolution was set to 1920x1080, and never noticed that the screen looked blurry or that text looked washed out.

It's not so much an issue, really, just something that I noticed. I figure the new driver brought the change and I have sent a ticket to NVIDIA, but has anyone else experienced something like this, or have some clue? Basically, why would my monitor's native resolution result in a poor display quality, and why is 3048x2160 even an option for display resolution?

Thanks for the support!

After digging around, I found a solution. Basically, I had to change the display resolution within the Nvidia Control Panel. The 1920x1080 resolution now looks clear and better!

That does make me wonder still . . . do those settings override the Windows settings? Changing the resolution to 1920x1080 within Windows settings resulted in a blurry, low-quality display, yet changing it within the Nvidia Control Panel resulted in a clear display.

Usually, the recommendations or the options for the resolution follow the resolution your Graphics card can handle. But the system will indicate the recommended resolution based on the monitor's max resolution that it can handle.

This occurrence usually happens when you install a new Graphics card on the system.

If you have poorer display quality on the display when you set it to the recommended resolution which is 1080p, try to uninstall the graphics driver via the device manager.

Open device manager by right-clicking the Windows logo then click device manager.

Next, double-click display adapters to expand it.

Next, right-click RTX 3060 then click uninstall device. After that restart the system and check if the issue will persist or not.
