Is it possible to repair EXCHANGE edb using eseutil from another exchange server

I have two exchange servers 2016 in my environment. EX01 & EX02. The two servers are in a DAG. I have two databases DB01 and DB02. All the dbs were mounted in EX01, i'm currently unable to access login or remote to EX01 . DB01 is still mounted in EX01, however DB02 dismounted and its unable to mount when i try using ECP. Kindly note: DB02 did not have a copy in EX02, the seeding process kept on repeatedly failing, until it dismounted from EX01.

I need to perform Move a mailbox database using database portability in Exchange Server for DB02 from EX01 to EX02, using this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/high-availability/disaster-recovery/database-portability?view=exchserver-2019

First i need to confirm if DB02 is in clean shutdown, using the legendary ESEUTIL. My question is: Is it possible to run eseutil against DB02.edb from EX02 and use network path eseutil -mh \\EX01\L$\DB02\DB02.edb?

or is it possible to repair(ESEUTIL /r E02 /l “\\EX01\e$\DB02” /d “ \\EX01\L$\DB02\DB02.edb”) DB02 using eseutil right inside EX02, while still the DB02.edb is hosted by EX01?

Hi @bernardmwanza-0900

My question is: Is it possible to run eseutil against DB02.edb from EX02 and use network path eseutil -mh \\EX01\L$\DB02\DB02.edb?

Based on my test, it is possible to use the network path once you have configured the read/write permissions of the mailbox folder.
