A link to mysql database in sql server without installing mysql driver on sql server database server,is it possible?

I would like make a link of mysql in sql server,it seems that I need to go to sql server database server and install a mysql odbc driver, is it possible to realize it without installing amything on sql server database server?
I hope i have clearly explained my question, otherwise please replying me so i could explain in detail.thank you very much

    Hi, @Martin Wang Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum, and thanks for reaching out.

    In a linked server concept it is that the SQL service should have the ability to connect .. so for the MySQL database, it is just another client trying to connect... There could be multiple ways to do it ..
    but yes the SQL server should have the drivers to connect to MySQL
    The easiest way is always to use the ODBC driver in the SQL server please check this document how you can use SSMA if the intention is to bring data into SQL.
