There is a problem with the rename key of the registry editor

Because of some of my needs, I need to be in "computer \ HKEY" LOCAL Machine \ software \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ image file execution options \ "create a new key and rename it to" ace-helper. Exe ", but" registry editor cannot rename the new key #1. There was an error renaming the key ", the permission has been changed, the full control and owner are my account, and I am sure that my account is an administrator. The anti-virus software is also closed. It's OK to create a new sub item under this item. You can delete it or rename it. Add: it is normal for me to rename in other places of the registry.

Hello

I try the same operation as you here, it can be renamed. It is very likely that software or services on other servers are using registry keys on this server, preventing renaming.

It is recommended to restart all servers, or stop the software or service running this registry key on the currently running server and test it.

You can also try the following:

1.Close any propgrams that may be locking the key. Go to the key in the registry editor, right-click and select permissons. Look at the Advanced tab. Look for DENY permissions. They take presedence over ALLOW permissions.

2.You could try running the Registry Editor with system privileges. This can be done by using the tool PsExec. It can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/psexec The command to run the registry editor with system privileges is: psexec -s -i regedit.exe You should at least be able to change the value manually using psexec. You could then try to fix the permissions while running regedit as system.
