Connect tabular SSAS to sharepoint online

Question

I am trying to connect to a Sharepoint online list from a SSAS tabular cube using Microsoft credentials which definitely have access to the Sharepoint list. The problem I have is that once the credential token expires my tabular cube will not update that data source. Is this something I can solve within the cube credential settings or is this something that must be sorted at the Sharepoint end?

I have had to put this on the back-burner for a bit, but will come back to the issue - thank you for the information to go on with.
