Hi everyone,

Recently, I came across new concept called site classification and I tried following MS article modern-experience-site-classification and setup the same for my tenant using powershell and created new site with GDPR as team site classification. But I don't see any restriction or new features added to the site. Can anyone explains or give more details about what we can achieve with site classification? Also, whether we can use this in compliance to track or restrict? It would be helpful.

SharePoint Online site classification is to strengthen security by identifying the sensitivity of your site data, there will be no new features added to the sites. You could refer this article to know more about how to exactly identify the sensitivity of site data.

And I suggest you now use sensitivity labels instead of sites classification to help protect your SharePoint sites.
