PowerPoint 2016 video color problem (Windows 10)

Question

When I embed a video in PowerPoint 2016, the software automatically changes its appearance during reproduction (mostly brightness, contrast and saturation). Using the correction tools doesn't solve the problem.

The problem arises because of INTEL GRAPHICS:- 

1. Right click the mouse anywhere on the desktop***** >>> click Intel Graphics Properties 
2. Select Video
3. The settings would have jumped to Driver Settings which is the root cause of this problem
4. Set Input Range as well as Standard Color Correction to Application settings
5. Click Apply, and then YES immediately.
6. Now you may close the HD GRAPHICS CONTROL PANEL

CONGO! to test results, open any video file compatible with Windows Media Player.  :)

*****If the right click doesn't show Graphic Properties then go to Control Panel>>> At the right of screen 'View by: ...... choose Large icons' and find your Graphic Card's control software.

Let us try to disable the hardware acceleration and check if it helps.

Open PowerPoint, click File---options---advanced---in the display section, let us disable “disable hardware graphics acceleration.” And check.

One of the possible reasons why this issue occurs is when the video that you're trying to play is either corrupted. Also, this issue likely occurs if your PowerPoint application needs an update: To know more about your query, we just like to ask a few questions:

• Is the issue the same when launching the PowerPoint app in safe mode? To do so, click here.
• What is the file format of the video you're trying to play?
• Have you tried saving or converting the video to another other file format and check if it makes any difference?

Having the same issue... Inserted videos through the PowerPoint menu. They look fine, but once I hit play the brightness / contrast changes. Had that issue in PowerPoint Home 2013. Then upgraded to 365 in hopes this might change the issue. But it didn't.

Video formats I tried are:

• mp4 (h264)
• mpg
• wmv (windows media 8 / 10)

File size is roughly around 70mb but varies

Chatted with a support agent, who accessed my computer via remote, but even she couldn't find a solution to the problem. Advised me to call the hotline, which is closed right now.

Any help would be appreciated!
