Hybrid Configuration Wizard and Basic Authentication

When we run the Hybrid Configuration wizard, it prompts us for user name and password for the on prem environment and in O365. With Microsoft disabling basic auth in O365 this coming October, what needs to be in place so this no longer occurs. Currently we are running a classic hybrid configuration that uses Federation trust. Do we need to enable Hybrid Modern Authentication to eliminate this dependency? Or do we need to implement the Hybrid Agent in this case?

You don't need to worry about it, from this article we can know that the HCW Office 365 account verification uses modern authentication:

You can also follow this article to check which client uses legacy authentication in your organization.

The answer that we found was that once you remove all Exchange 2010 from your environment, the HCW will create this authentication for you. So our answer will be to focus on removing all Exchange 2010 and then running the HCW to do that.
