Hi,

We have a client who has created a project site from a site Template which is working fine but when they are clicking on Home tab of site, its directing them to some different project site's home page. Any idea what could be causing this?
thanks

    Hi @Audi86 ,

    I'm glad to hear you solve the problem ,if you have any issue about SharePoint, you are welcome to raise a ticket in this forum.

    By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. Issue Symptom:
    We have a client who has created a project site from a site Template which is working fine but when they are clicking on Home tab of site, its directing them to some different project site's home page.

    Solution:
    By Audi86:
    The issue is incomplete URL on the home tab of template site. so try copy/pasting the URL again on home Tab and create a new template.

    Current status:
    All sites created, are staying on their own home pages.

    Hi @Audi86 ,

    Could you provide some screenshots, if possible, including the URL of the page where it starts and ends.
    Here is a possible solution based on your existing description for your reference.
    1.You could check whether the home page under Site Pages is Home.aspx.
    Specific position: Site contents->Site settings->Welcome page
    203549-image.png
    203701-screenshot-2022-05-19-154135.png

    2.If not, specify Home.aspx as the home page.
    1)Modify the URL in the Site Welcome Page.
    2)Site contents->Site Pages-> Show actions->make homepage

    3.If Home.aspx does not exist, you could go to the Recycle Bin to see if it has been accidentally deleted. If you can't find it in both levels of recycle bin, you need to create a new requirement homepage and set it as homepage.

    Hi @Audi86 ,

    I think your idea is fine. Of course, you could also try to create a correct homepage you need in the template site, then set it as the template's homepage, and then create a new site through this template to see if there is any problem. You said you don't see any tabs for ’Site Pages‘ under the ‘Site Content’ tab to locate the home page option. You can open a feature on each of the two levels to display Pages.

    Site Settings->Site collection features->SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure->Activate->Manage site features->SharePoint Server Publishing->Activate

    I think I am good now. The issue is incomplete URL on the home tab of template site. so we we copied/pasted the URl again on home Tab and created a new template. now all sites created, are staying on their own home pages. :)
