Dear all,
I'm running VM with Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS. I have OMIAgent that require a lot of RAM. I would to uninstall it definitely.
I uninstalled it throgh Azure Web Portal in the section "Applications + Extensions" of VM. But after some days there is some Azure service that automatically reinstall it.
In which way Can I uninstall it definitely?
Thanks in advance

Hello @Luigi Falco ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to answer your question.

It appears there is an additional configuration done to auto provision the log analytics OMS agent on your VM. Mostly either it is Microsoft Defender for Cloud or Azure Policy

I would recommend checking the settings under microsoft defender for cloud(MDC)
Toggle the status to Off for the relevant agent.

Toggles to disable auto provisioning per agent type.

Select Save. When auto provisioning is disabled, the default workspace configuration section is not displayed:

Note: When auto provisioning is disabled, the configuration cell is empty

But in meanwhile I deactivate OMI Agent,
the question is: why this agent after some days consumes all VM RAM? It increase memory usage every day as you can se in this graph.
