Trying to create a gant chart in SSRS with markers that can change position based on one of my fields (date)

Hey guys,

For the past week I've been working on creating a functional Gantt chart from SQL data. The primary needs for this Gantt are the rectangles/bars which change width and position based on my date field; dtmobilization. I have those working fine by inserting a bar plot in each row, and having my top row (x-axis) as the 12 calendar months.

The issue is that I also need markers of various shapes which also change position along the x-axis based on another date field and be on the same row as the rectangles/bars. I've been looking everywhere and want to know if this is even possible? Maybe I need to use an image instead?

Thanks for the help!

Hi @RichAOLx-1810

I read your description multiple times, but I still don't understand what effect you want, can you provide your sample data , and how is the gant chart looks like ,for us to understand your needs more intuitively

Above is an attached image of my Gantt chart. The Length of each box is based on two date fields (dtstart and dtend). As you can see I have markers also inserted (Red Star, Green Circle, Orange Box).

In my dataset I have a separate field for each markers date. For example the red star should be placed on the date where a Peer review occurs (field name: dtPeerReview). The issue is currently I have no way of altering the position of these markers along the horizontal axis (x-axis) and instead they are fixed to my bars location. So for instance on the top bar, I'd like my Green Circle to be placed in the month of July since that's when an AFE review will occur, not at the start of the line bar.

Let me know if more clarification is necessary and thank you for the reply!

Hi @RichAOLx-1810
From the panel below, we can see that there is no option to set the marker position, so this function does not exist in SSRS. The marker can only mark the starting position . Your requirement is currently unachievable in SSRS.

You can submit it to the Microsoft feedback at this link: https://feedback.azure.com/d365community/forum/04fe6ee0-3b25-ec11-b6e6-000d3a4f0da0
