'You don't have permission' on my own account

Hi, I have started getting warning sayings 'you don't have sufficient permission to access...' when it is clearly referring to files / locations I do have access to, such as files in my own OneDrive! The two most notable (and annoying!) examples are:

  • When I am trying to share links to documents (that I do have access to) via the 'attach a file' button in Outlook for Desktop. If I try to access the document directly, it works fine, but the links do not work for recipients.
  • When I am trying to access OneNote notebooks (that I do have access to) via OneNote for Desktop. I can access these notebooks via the browser, and they do update periodically on the desktop app, but not live.

Can anyone tell me what might be causing this?

Many thanks!

    Hi, @Jamie Wade
Do not use attachments when adding links in Outlook, add the link directly in the body to send.
The recipient can move the mouse over the link, and if it cannot be opened, there will be a prompt.
Are your OneNote files stored in OneDrive?
File synchronization in OneDrive will be affected by various factors such as network bandwidth, and there will be a certain lag. There is no way to open OneNote files in OneDrive and modify them immediately on desktop OneNote.
