Unable to export AAD Connect config due to pending upgrade

Let me explain

We run 1.6.16.0 version of AAD Connect on Windows Server 2012. Naturally I know v1 is being depreciated this year. We have a new 2019 server ready to go which we will be installing the latest v2 on.

In preparation for the upgrade, I though I'd look at and export the existing settings, however when I open AAD Connect I'm prompted with the following:

"Upgrade Azure Active Directory Connect" - An older version of Azure AD Connect is installed and will be upgraded using your existing synchronization and privacy settings"

My question is - What version is it going to upgrade to? I was under the impression that 1.6.16.0 was the latest of the V1 versions and I'm assuming it wont upgrade to v2 as the server is 2012 R2. Just unsure of hitting the upgrade button at this stage as not sure what its going to do!

Thanks

Well, if you are intending to migrate to V2 and to a supported config, I wouldnt do that. Esp if you have one server. It could be that nothing is affected and nothing actually happens and the upgrade just fails, but with one server and since you are migrating anyway I would not bother :)
    Just my opinion...

Hmm, yea can't see how that would work :)

If you disable autoupgrade with Set-ADSyncAutoUpgrade, I wonder if that message will go away.
