Android Microsoft Remote Dektop Connection and Resolution

I am just switching to Microsoft RDP for my users to connect via their android smart phones to our server 2016 applications.
I am able to configure and connect the first time...but...when they log out and attempt to log back in...they cannot connect.
The screen just shows a spinning circle and never connects. So far...we have attempted on only 2 devices...but we are experiencing the same exact behavior.
If I delete the connection and start from scratch each time...the initial connection is just fine...but they are subsequently unable to connect.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Any resolutions?

Also, when we did get connected...the portrait resolution was limited to 600x1232.
But...the application they are trying to use needs a minimum width of 720....is there any way to make that happen?
