Azure virtual machine is accessible via organization's on-premises network only?
Team,
We have windows server 2012 azure virtual machines having only private ip address. To connect them, we have to be in office or vpn( if work from home). I'm trying to find out how this network structure is created so that VM's are not accessible over public internet.
Currently, when I nslookup the hostname of Azure VM in cmd then I get the output as
Hostname.mycompany.com
Private Ip of Azure VM
How this connectivity is working. Can any one please guide me through this and its different way's. Someone has made them long back. I exactly don't know how this connection has been setup.
Please help.
Thank you

If I understand you right…
so technically, everything is working as expected!
And you want to find out how everything is designed… which vnets, which subnet(s) and so on…The easiest way is to get access to the Azure portal https://portal.azure.com
Then search for virtual networks - if you find several, you have to find that subnet which contains your servers.
That might be the easiest, maybe if you are familiar with PowerShell and you have access to the company’s subscription… try that way
But without any access to that company subscription… no chance, sorry
