Hi All

we have a server 2019 RDS setup as the broker and a few host servers .

When A user closes the connection by clicking on the x we have set the "end a disconnected session" setting to 1 hour.

Some times after that 1 hour when the user logs in again he or she will have issues and then upon checking we will see the UPD still being locked.

We then have to unlock then the user can log in again

Sessions settings:

End a disconnected session - 1 hour

Active session limit - never

Idle session limit - never

Temporary folder settings:

Delete temporary folders on exit - true

Use temporary folders per session - true

User profile disks

Enable use profile disks - True

Location some other server

Store all user settings and data on user profile disk - true

also Office 2019 standard is installed

Unfortunately I did not found a solution, it works fine if all functions are on one server, but after you split the SH and CB it caused the issue with the locked profiles.
You should have more luck if you are using it only for Remote apps.
I've seen people resolving the issue by changing the cashing settings on the shared folder holding users disks to "No files or programs from the shared folder are available offline"
Our setup was for RD users connecting to their own desktops on the RDS.

    We have the same problem.
    Our setup is:
5x RDSH, 2x RDCB in HA connecting to a SQL server, 1x file server holding the UPD. All machines are VM Windows Server 2019 Standard, latest updates installed. All servers are on the same subnet.
    We using RemoteApps
Is there a solution for this problem?

I've thought it could be the AV therefore I've uninstalled it on all SH and the server holding the UPD

When users exit the RDP session the profile disks remains mounted on the Session Host, whatever setting you change for the sessions. The disk remain mounted. The only difference is if you set "never end the disconnected session" and the user "x" out of the RDP, the disk remain mounted but at least users can log back in. If however, they log out using ->start->user profile->sign out, the session ends and the disk remains mounted and they can't log back unless you manually un-mount the disk.

What I will try next is to create a fresh VM from scratch setup all roles on that vm together with the UPD and check if it will from one VM without any additional installations/configurations. I'm wondering if that is not just an issue with Microsoft Windows server 2019

Exclude the folder with the profiles from the antivirus. Check the logs in the applications section to see if there are errors.

We have the same issue, UPD are still being mounted on the session host and on next log in user is setup with temporary profile.

Have you found a solution to this issue?
