Language Studio not connecting to language service resource

I am trying to use Language Studio to explore Custom Text Classification. I have created a Language Service resource in East US with Managed Identity enabled. However, when I try and start a Custom Classification project I get the error that this service is only available in some regions (the list provider include East US). Any ideas?
