Microsoft Authenticator

Question

I'm having the same issue as a lot of others. I upgraded my Apple phone and when I try to sign in to a lot of apps I am prompted for a 6 digit authenticator password but Microsoft Authenticator now only provides an 8 digit code. How do I get the authenticator app to generate a 6 digit code instead of 8 digits? I do not have the passwordless sign-in enabled.
