Authenticator Approve/Deny Error

I have authenticator installed on my Android phone, trying to login my working Microsoft account on a lap top which requires the approval of authenticator, the notification did pop up, however, when I tried to click on Approve, it always proceed as Deny, hence not able to login. Please help.

I had the same issue on laptop, but I solved it as follows:

Click on I want to use another option, a dropdown will appear in popup

Select Phone instead of Microsoft Authenticator App

Select your country and enter your phone number

Enter the code sent on your phone, it will be verified

Sign in again

But how do you fix the always 'denied' issue despite clicking 'approve'. using a verification code instead is just a work-around.
