If your Windows license is retail or digital, you can deactivate it on the old PC. This can usually be done through the Activation settings in the Control Panel. However, this option might not be available for all types of Windows licenses.

2023-08-16T16:03:49.2133333+00:00 windows has two types of licenses. OEM and Retail. If your computer came with software it's typically an OEM license. if you bought the Windows software yourself than its typically Retail and came with a product key.
OEM licenses are not transferable and may even limit hardware updates. Retail licenses usually are transferable. You must know your product key and whether it's digital.
to transfer you deactivate the old software first.
