ADF Quickbooks Connector: Exchange Rate on Invoices only two decimals

Hello,

when copying invoice data from Quickbooks Online's Invoice table, the Exchange_Rate column always only has two decimal places, although the API usually outputs more decimals.

In the end, I'd like to use a dynamic schema, as I'd like to bulk extract an entire system's data; but even with an explicit mapping, it seems to just crop the decimals within the connector. I disabled "Allow data truncation" on the mappings tab, but that didn't help. The source field is detected with a "Decimal" type.

Am I just overlooking something? Is there any way to get more decimals out of this?

I know it's still in preview, btw. Was just hoping not to have to build a direct API extraction myself. :)

Thank you for posting query in Microsoft Q&A Platform.

You mean actually inside Quick books table, you have many decimal places and after copy to some destination you are seeing only two? Kindly elaborate more.

Also, what is your sink datastore?

As you rightly pointed Quick books currently under preview. If some feature is missing we can submit feedback for same. Product team closely monitor feedbacks and consider them to implement in future releases. Please submit if any feedback at below link.

yes, quickbooks online itself uses more decimals and I get numbers with more decimals back when querying the API directly.
I'm copying to csv on azure data lake, but also tried xml and azure SQL. All the same, truncated to 2 decimals.

I'll post an Idea on the feedback page, thanks for the link.

Thanks for details @Jens Eggerath . Since connector itself is truncating decimal points, we cannot do much. Submitting feedback helps actually :-).

Meanwhile, Since API call getting you data as expected kindly consider using Copy activity with source as REST connector type Dataset and Sink as ADLS. So, here REST connector dataset make API call and copies response to Sink location.

Thank you, I know about the REST connector, but wanted to avoid the authentication handling efforts involved with REST connections to QuickBooks Online.
That's where using the connector would be really helpful.

Got using connector directly instead of REST connector will be always easy option. But since there is a limitation with decimal positions at this moment you may consider REST as work around. Feel free to submit feedback as mentioned in above comment. Thank you.
