edit/manipulate embedded Excel charts/tables using the word javascript add-in api

Hi,

i am trying to alter the values of an embedded Excel chart from within a javascript word addin.

I know that this was very easy years ago by using the vb.net plugin api.
Yet i haven't found any way to do the same using the new javascript api.

Is this Feature planned in a future release?
or is it already possible and i am missing something?
