SQL 2012 ESU: How to license it for servers licensed by downgrading from a newer version?
Dear all,
We are a bit late in migrating a SQL 2012 server to a newer version, so we need to ensure it is receiving critical patches.
My question is simple, but I was not able to find an answer to it by myself: If a server is properly licensed by downgrading newer licenses than 2012 (be it 2014 or 2017), do we still need to purchase ESU licenses for this downgraded server or is it already covered?
Many thanks,
Tom
