Hi,
This is a known problem to many users and is caused by the latest Windows updates. Microsoft is already aware of the problem and is already working to correct the anomaly. In the meantime, uninstall the latest updates of 14/15 June or suspend them for a week while waiting for the problem to be resolved.
Enabling Adhoc Network Internet Connection Sharing Disables Internet Browser Connectivity On Host Network
Before today, and for many years, I have been able to configure the ad-hoc network on my main device, then connect secondary devices to the ad-hoc network and the internet worked fine on all devices. However, just today, I have encountered the following strange issue: I am able to connect to the internet just fine on my main device so as long as I do not attempt to enable the adhoc network. But once I enable the adhoc network, it immediately disables the internet on the computer I used to configure the adhoc network. (and by this I mean that if I attempt to access the internet from any browser, it will not work. The network still says connected though). The internet, however, does work on any secondary device I use to connect to the adhoc network. I am puzzled as to what could cause this. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this issue, I will be deeply grateful for your assistance with helping me troubleshoot this problem.
Respectfully,
Hero

2022-06-15T18:11:02.677+00:00 Nevermind, I uninstalled the Windows Security Update for 6/15 2022 and that seems to have fixed the issue, but I wonder what it is about that security update that would cause this particular problem.

2022-06-17T07:33:45.707+00:00 I have an update to this situation. After further investigation it seems that the problem is not fixed. The 6/15/2022 Windows Security update prevents me from being able to permanently uninstall this particular update. Furthermore, I have learned that I can create an adhoc network using netsh and ICS protocol however, doing so will disable my ability to browse the internet on host device. I do not understand why this most recent security update disables internet browsing on the host device. It makes no sense to me. Someone please help.

2022-06-17T09:35:13.25+00:00 I have applied a temporary fix by System Restoring to back to before the 6/15/2022 Windows Security Update was installed and then disabling Windows Updates. Still no permanent solution to this issue.
