SynapseLinkStorageResourceNotProvisioned

Question

Hi,

I am trying to set up the Synapse Link for SQL when I get the following message when I publish the link connection:

Error code: OK
Inner error code: SynapseLinkStorageResourceNotProvisioned
Message: The Synapse Link storage resource is not provisioned for workspace {workspace name}

The connection to Azure SQL DB (source) is configured and the connection gives me a thumbs up.

The destination SQL Pool is created and is accessible.

I think I have checked and validated if all roles have been assigned and are attached to the right resources.

Any tips or ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

This error message indicates that the subscription hasn't whitelisted, or the workspace was created before whitelist. If it's latter, you should delete and recreate the workspace.

This is already documented in Known limitations and issues with Azure Synapse Link for SQL (Preview) - Azure Synapse Analytics | Microsoft Learn.

"Users must use an Azure Synapse Analytics workspace created on or after May 24, 2022, to get access to Azure Synapse Link for SQL functionality."
