Hi Team,

The windows servers are supporting the multi logins at same time, So why do we need to install the RDS feature and purchase RDS CAL?

There is a local policy in server to enable the RDS connection limit up to 999999 also.

Remote Desktop supports two concurrent remote connections to the computer. You do not have to have Remote Desktop Services client access licenses (RDS CALs) for these connections.

To allow more than two administrative connections or multiple user connections, you must install the RD Session Host Role and have appropriate RDS CALs.

Hi there,

A server software license by itself doesn't provide the license rights to allow anyone to connect to that computer, whether they work for the company or not. Instead, each user or device needs a CAL.

CALs are required by Microsoft licensing for all users or devices that access Windows Server Standard or Windows Server Datacenter.

There are two types of RDS CALs:

-RDS Per Device CALs
-RDS Per User CALs
