Hi!
I am running a Windows 10 Task Sequencer, mostly default, when it gets to the Windows update task it tries to update to Windows 11 even though some of the computers doesn't match the requirements. This also takes a very long while to run. I have a separate WSUS server which have downloaded the updates
How can I stop it from trying to update to windows 11?

Thanks for your posting on Q&A.
It is so weird. As far as I know, the devices won't get the Windows 11 feature update if the the computers doesn't match the requirements. Anyway, perhaps we could download the required updates and import into the media manually before create a Task Sequence to deploy to the device.
1. Check the OS build version Windows 10 update history for your reference
2. Download the latest SSU and CUs and .Net framework updates from Microsoft Update Catalog.
3. Import the update into the Media on the MDT console

It was a Wsus problem, I removed the update to Windows 11 from the Wsus and installed the new ADK on the MDT server.
But still strange that it tries to update even though the computer doesn't support Windows 11. The installation gets struck on that step

Would you mind sharing the Task Sequence steps in your environment? Also it will be better if your could provide the screenshot of the Windows update task in your environment.
There are no judgment criteria in the task sequence. Or we can add judgment conditions manually. The judgment statement is as follows just for your reference.

When Win 11 was released none of our Systems where supported.
This recently changed. Maybe ist the same on your side.
We also use on prem WSUS but decided on also including all win 11 Updates since we will probpably run into new demands recreating customer scenarios.
but just because those are there and not approved they should not have caused any issues.

I haven't changed much in the sequencer. Mostly added some script to set corporate proxy and to install some programs. The Windwos Update task I haven't touched at all.

As far as I know, the devices will try to get the WSUS server to scan updates no matter the devices doesn't match the requirements. So I would like to suggest to add a judgment criteria in the task sequence and Make a limit.
In addition, it is simply an idea to provide a reference. Maybe we can handle it from the image file. Import the required updates into the image file. This will greatly save the computer time to install a new operating system. Just for your reference.
