Activating Windows 11 on parallels

Hi,

I have installed windows 11 through parallels on MacBook M1. The installation process was automatic, guided by the parallels and eventually I got Windows 11 Home Edition. It is not activated. When I try to activate, it takes to the Microsoft store but there is no option to purchase the windows 11 key. I would like to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro version. Any ideas?

I thought Windows 11 for Mac was a preview so perhaps you cannot buy a licence for a preview build. Generally though Windows 11 licences are not available to buy currently and only devices with it pre-installed are available.

You might have to wait to buy a Windows 11 licence.

As with Windows 10 though if you have Home edition you must activate that prior to buying an upgrade licence for Windows 10 Pro. If you want to have Windows 11 Pro edition perhaps you should install that edition then look at a Pro licence, when available.

Please see the advise from Sumit.

    Hi Paruyr,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

Windows does not support or sell Windows on ARM licenses. The insider copies are intended just for evaluation. You would not be able to change editions. You would have to either use RDP with a Windows desktop, or buy a Windows PC for the best experience.
