How to troubleshoot windows update error code 0x80070003 ran into a problem?

    Nurifa,

    Click Start (Press “Windows Key + Q” to open Charms Bar.)

    Type: cmd

    Right click on cmd in start menu and select 'Run as Administrator'

    Type: net stop wuauserv

    Hit Enter

    Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old

    Hit Enter

    Type: net start wuauserv

    Hit Enter

    Type: exit

    Hit Enter

    Attempt to download updates

    Hello,

    I suggest you to run SFC /SCANNOW command in the command prompt with administrative privileges. After doing it, press Windows Key + R and type following command in Run dialog box:

    Cmd /c ren %WinDir%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe Spupdsvc.old

    Then try to re-install updates, that should work fine. If that doesn't works, then try to refresh or reset Windows using following methods:

    Worthy of trying.  But do read some of the page content first.

    It would be a good idea to make a system restore point before using.   System / System Protection.

    no it did not help, and it routed me around with troubleshoot wheel with the same results
