save to PDF issue with title and filename

When I "save as PDF" and open in Acrobat, the PDF file shows the TITLE from the deck properties, not the file name. But when I "export as PDF", the correct name shows when open in Acrobat. What I did notice is that if i "save to PDF" and turn off Document Properties in the OPTIONS before saving, the filename shows properly in Acrobat.

I ask because sometimes I need to Save as PDF, and not Export, and it would be nice to keep Document Properties.

So, is there a way or some time of trigger I can call so that when "Save to PDF" is used the Title from Properties is not used... or better yet, how can I have all my decks automatically populate the Title field with the file name???

I have always found this Title properties a dumb field to have.

Yes I am aware of that, but this seems to be an issue that irks many designers and users of PPT. The software should automatically place the file name into the title field. Just makes sense. If you want to change you have that option. But to have to enter that info every time you save a file is non-productive.

    HEY MICROSOFT, PLEASE FIX THIS!!

    Hi Todd,

The Title is one of the file properties and it's not exectly like file name. It is not feasible in PowerPoint to set the Title automatically. Sorry about the inconvenience.

When Save as in PowerPoint, you should be able to edit the file properties such as Title.

You can also edit the properties in PowerPoint > File:

    Hi Todd,

I understand that it not very friendly to input the Title every time saving a new file. So I hope you can feedback the Office directly: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Regards,

    Alex
