How can I put the image file to excel by drag and drop??

when i working with EXCEL2007 I want put image to excel cell.(actually merged 3x3 cells)

but if i drag from window explorer to target cell.

Happens anything..just nothing..

how can i insert image from window explorer?(not using Insert - image function- that is to many actions)

and i try to find a way in Google, but it seems to Excel do not have that ability.

is it correct?? or maybe i install Excel 2010 or excel 2013 is it possible?

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community and we are glad to assist you with your concern related to Excel.

    Dragging and dropping the pictures/images into Excel is not a feature of Excel 2007 or Excel 2010.

    The images has to be inserted or embedded into the file to view them in Excel.

    As a work around you may try the following:

    Insert or copy/past the images into a Word document and then open a Excel window (ensure the Word and the Excel window is placed side by side) and then try to drag and drop the images into Excel file from Word.

    Hi,

    try this

    1. right click on picture >select...  Open Link in New Tab

    select new tab

    1. right click on picture >select...  Copy
    2. in excel

    select a cell and Paste

    Note

    paste not in cell but in active sheet

    Hi. Thanks for reply,:)

    i try to under developing Excel addins.

    Through excel addins can i catch windows message?

    because when i move mouse pointer with grab image file, mouse pointer shape changed.

    so i think there is some window message about that event.

    but in Excel, there are no routine to process this event.(about direct drag & drop)
