Others can't hear me in Teams meetings!

I've been having some problems with my microphone in Teams meetings for a few days. Sometimes others cannot hear me at all, sometimes my voice is muffled and they can only hear parts of what I'm saying, but again sometimes they can hear me as normal. I read a few posts and tried a few things to try to fix my problems:

  • Checking my computer microphone setting and allowed access to Microsoft Teams desktop app
  • Changing a few microphone settings in Teams and tried a test call (in which my voice is still muffled in some parts)
  • Updating from Microsoft 10 to Microsoft 11 & Checking for updates in the Teams app (which I think it didn't update yet, since my MS Teams version still says "Version 1.4.00.31569 (64-bit). It was last updated on 11/21/2021")

After updating my computer to Microsoft 11, the microphone conditions seemed to return normal at first, but the problems happened again and others still couldn't hear me sometimes.

If anyone knows some other ways that I can try to solve this problem, please tell me! Thank you so much!

    Hi Daniel,

I tried having a meeting in the MS Teams browser, and the other participants said they could hear me perfectly fine throughout the whole meeting. So I guess this issue only occurs in the Teams desktop app.

    Hi ANNIE

My name is Daniel. I will be more than happy to assist you.

I'm wondering whether you are experiencing the same issue when using MS Teams online.

Please follow these steps below to isolate the issue:

    1. Please go to your computer then open your chrome or edge browser as the only recommended browsers to access MS Teams online.
    2. Please go to MS Teams online https://teams.microsoft.com
    3. Then try to log in.
    4. Go join a meeting as test

Are you experiencing the same audio issue when you are using MS Teams online from your computer?

Could you please reinstall the Microphone driver. Go to Windows start menu button > type in Device Manager > Audio inputs and output. Please right-click your Microphone from the device list then select Update Driver, if it does not work > Uninstall, reinstall then restart the computer so it can take effect.

However, if the problem still persists you can try the following troubleshooting tips in the following article below by using VoiceMeeter as a virtual microphone for the MS Team app. So basically The VoiceMeeter will act as a "bridge" between your headset and MS Team and see how it goes. Hi,

So, I tried all the methods you showed, which are reinstalling the Microphone driver and troubleshooting (the computer says it found no problem). But the sound is still muffled and I just figured out that that's the case for MS Teams on the browser too. Other websites have also been loading extremely slow, so I'm guessing that it's a weak internet connection problem. Thanks for your efforts, anyway.

Are you experiencing this issue with an internal microphone or an external microphone? If indeed it's external, what's the manufacturer? What's the model/series?

    Kind Regards
