I try to find Adventurework2016 or 2014 but the cube database in order to put it in SSAS.
Whatever I found on the Internet is the cube database for 2019. This bak file cannot be restored in SSAS 2016 that I have in my office.

Can you help me in finding these previous versions of Adventurework cube database?

Thank you

Nick

The sample databases for SQL Server are all documented here. They point to the Github repo where the actual DBs reside.

As discussed there the AdventureWorks DB is an older example and MS has moved on to Northwind. However you can still restore the older DB into a newer SQL version. There hasn't been any changes since 2012. The SQL DB and data warehouse DBS are stored under the releases here. Grab the version for SQL2016.

The multi-dimensional bak file, unfortunately, is for the 2019 version only. I haven't found a bak file containing the cube for SQL server 2016 or 2014.
There are a lot of OLTP databases of previous versions but the cube file is only for 2019. This is my problem.
I have SSAS 2016 and I want a bak file with cubes of the 2016 or 2014 or 2012 version, but I don't find them.

    Hi @Nick Panagiotopoulos ,

This bak file cannot be restored in SSAS 2016

The sample database (AdventureWorksDW database backup file) is restored to the SQL Server Database Engine instance, not the SSAS instance.
You can download smple databases here: AdventureWorks sample databases.

OK, the data warehouse version is also useful, but I need to write MDX queries. Therefore I need the cubes, the measures, and the dimensions on SSAS.
The cube databases in SSAS are also backed up. Such a cube backup of adventureworks2016 is what I am searching for, not the OLTP databases or the DW databases. Both OLTP and DW databases are loaded in the database engine, you are right. Also, you need the DW version to refresh the cube.
But I need the cube of adentureworks2016.
What you answered me is for OLTP and DW versions, not the cube version.
I don't know if I make myself clear.
