Buenas,

Saludos cordiales,
IgnacioM.

Hi,

This is my first post so I going to introduce me, my name is Ignacio and hope this new relationship is durable.

My question is, I have some virtual machines on the azure load balancer which has a health probe rule as well. I want to stop one of those virtual machines during the weekend with a scheduled task, ¿Would I have any problem with the load balancer with this machine when it is stopped? and when it is started again?

Kind regards,
Ignacio M.

    @Ignacio M

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

    Issue: If I understand your ask correctly, you are looking to know the impact if a one of the VM behind a Load Balancer is Stop/Start using a schedule.

    Once a VM behind the Load Balancer is stopped, the Load balancer health probe to that node fails and the traffic from the LB will not be routed to the unhealthy node.
    However, LB routes traffic to the healthy node and if the traffic is more the requests might get dropped.
    Once the node is started and the LB health probe succeeds the traffic from LB will be routes to both the healthy nodes.

    If you have any further questions on this, tag me in a comment.
    Hope that helps.
