Errors detected when saving excel

Hi

When I try to save excel I get the following message:

"Errors were detected while saving ’/Users/fridrik/Documents/2021/folder/name of file.xlsx’. Microsoft Excel may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click Continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel."

When I click Continue I actually end up in a loop and the file is not saved.

Is it possible to get a view of what repairs need to be made before the file is saved?

Or even better can you point out what I need to do to be able to save the file?

Kind regards

Fridrik

    Hi Fridrick

Make sure your file name does not have any special characters such as slashes in it.

Make sure Excel is up to date. Go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel. Your version should be 16.57

Try making a minor change to the workbook, the use File > Save As and switch the format to Microsoft Excel Binary .xlsb The binary format can handle the widest variety of features.

    Hello Fridrik,

First, I would like to request you open the new Excel workbook in the browser and copy the content from the problematic workbook, then paste into the new Excel workbook opened in the browser.

After you done it successfully, try to save the Excel workbook in the different file format and check whether you can save without any problem.

Generally, the error message you encountered will be generated when trying to open the file, where the file is corrupted.

If you can't save it in different file format, you can open the new Excel workbook in Excel app and copy the content to it, and check whether you can save the new file.

    Best Regards,

    Chitrahaas
